NUC, Restores Tansian University, Umunya Operating License

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof Nduka Uraih wishes to notify the general public, especially old and prospective students that admission into Tansian University, Umunya, (Oba Take-Off Campus) have resumed with full vigour following the lifting of the suspension of the Tansian University operating license by the National Universities Commission (NUC)

Admission is currently on for suitably qualified candidates into the University.

In a letter to the University, signed by the Executive Secretary of NUC, Prof Julius Okojie, the commission expressed satisfaction at the action taken so far by the University to comply with all regulations and guidelines of the Commission in all aspects of the University operation. Part of the letter reads: “I am pleased to inform the Vice Chancellor that the suspension of the operating license of Tansian University, Umunya has been lifted with effect from 2nd August, 2012.”

Licensed by the Federal Government under the close supervision of the National Universities Commission (NUC) on May 17th, 2007, Tansian University is determined to actualize its vision of being a dynamic Institution with the noble philosophy of inculcating sound, high quality education, without compromising on morals. And since inception, the University has continued to offer relevant academic programmes designed to produce highly qualified graduates that will be acceptable locally and globally; young men and women imbued with love of universal truth for the benefit of mankind.

This year the university celebrated the First Convocation of the Instition. During these past years the University has gone through peaks and valleys and travelled on roads with bumps. Upon reflection, it is what is expected from the process of creating, building and transforming an academic institution. We have become a more matured Institution proud of its past but focused on the future. Tansian University is a unique university characterized by being a comprehensive university with deep roots and commitment to the social and natural sciences.

Despite the challenge there is much good to celebrate. Foremost is the staff and administration's commitment to the students and their education. The Institution is  good at providing an excellent education that makes our graduates most competitive for the world of graduate and professional education and work.

Construction work is going on at the Permanent Site of the University as the Rechberger Multipurpose Plaza has been completed while the Administrative Block, ICT centre will be completed by the end of this year. Construction of the student hostels is on course. Tansian University continues to work in progress; that is what education means: a process of continued learning, discovery, growth, and transformation.

Today the graduates of Tansian University who are currently on National Youth Service have proven to be good ambassadors of the University with many of them championing excellence in their fields of endeavours.
