Fidelity Bank Youth Empowerment Academy To Train 200 Students

Fidelity Bank Plc will on Monday start a training and empowerment programme for 200 students of Federal Polytechnic, Oko, Anambra State through its Fidelity Youth Empowerment Academy, FYEA.Fidelity Bank Youth Empowerment Academy To Train 200 Students

The 5-day training, that is to be co-ordinated by Gazelle Academy and the in-house training academy of the Polytechnic, would happen at the Oko Polytechnic primary grounds.

Fidelity Bank managing director, Mr. Nnamdi Okonkwo said in Awka that the empowerment was a piece of the bank's corporate social duty to Nigerians.

Okonkwo, who was represented by the regional branch head for Anambra, Enugu and Ebonyi states, Mr. Leonard Ezeugwu said that the bank had the inclination to offer back to the general population, particularly the youthful ones, as a method for engaging them to earn money for themselves and alleviate burden on their families.

As per him, it was likewise the bank's method for contributing its standard towards the building of a superior society, including that so much would be accomplished if different banks toed this line of activity.

He added: "We have done this program in Enugu, using University of Nigeria, Nsukka, We have additionally done it in Kebbi State, and now we are in Anambra. After here, we may most likely go South - South."

The deputy rector of Oko Polytechnic, Mrs. Gladys Anene, who praised the bank for the program, said the partnership with Fidelity Bank would help the institution to do what it had been doing before now.

She included that the program was in accordance with the Polytechnic's arrangement of producing self-employed graduates and trusted that different instituions in the nation would copy Fidelity Bank.

In his discourse, the Managing Director of Gazelle Academy, Mr. Muno Onuzo clarified that the effective competitors would be prepared on a few aptitudes, including; fashion designing, bead making, cocktail, mobile photography, fruit fountain, car wash, among others, depending upon their enthusiasm.

He added that the bank would ultimately empower the candidates with equipments and take off funds that would assist them set up their own businesses.
