Training Details

Day 1:  Rudiments of electronics, electrical and solar energy engineering
  • Introduction to solar systems
  • Components of solar systems:  Solar panels, inverters, charge controller, battery
  • Load requirement (determine load capacity of all equipment)
  • Solar panels (Determine the number of solar panels needed based on the load requirement)
  • Inverter (size and capacity of inverters)
  • Battery (number of batteries needed)
  • Charge controller (how to regulate charge)
Day two: Troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of solar energy systems
  • Charging of battery (inability of battery to sustain load over a period of time
  • Inverter faults
  • Low voltage of battery (aging)
  • Improper load requirement
Day 3: Practical
Join a group of eight people and solve one of the following challenges, to prove understanding of solar energy concepts
  • Build a phone solar charger
  • Build a laptop solar charger
  • Build a miniature street light
  • Build a house hold solar energy system
It is not just important to know how to install solar panels. You have to understand the technical details necessary for maintenance and troubleshooting
You will learn some technical details such as how to calculate the load requirements of your client, load balancing, and how to build solar panels that lasts
