Here's how you can get a job through LinkedIn

1. Build your network before you need it. 

Having a strong network is essential. 
No matter how bad the economy is, having a strong network of connections is a good form of job security. Don't wait till times are tough before you nurture your connections. 

2. Ensure your profile is complete and up to date. 

Your LinkedIn profile is your chance to showcase your skills and help the right people and opportunities find you. People who have their profile complete with their past experiences and contact details are 20 times more likely to be contacted for job opportunities. 

3. Get recommendations and endorsements. 

A strong recommendation from those you've worked with shows you were a valued employee. Reach out to your past managers and colleagues, hint them why you want a strong recommendation (to get more clients or find a new job etc). That way you can be sure the recommendations they'll give will make you stand out. 

4. Get the word out. 

Tell your connections that you are open to new opportunities. Use posts or status updates to let your connections know, don't add "Open to new opportunities" to your headline.
