Two Factors That Disrupt Performance Management - Oyiza SaluIn a recent conference meeting organized by GODP Consulting that took place at Four Points by Sheraton, Victoria Island, Lagos, Oyiza Salu,Group Head of HR, Guaranty Trust Bank Plc speaks on 'Efficient Practice in Performance Management'.

According to her, performance management seems to be a top burner issue globally presently. Especially, in an economy where organizations are striving to ensure productivity.

She further analysis two key factors that had disrupted performance management.

Firstly, a lot of organizations discovered that the current systems are no longer achieving desire returns on investment. Organization invest so much on performance management systems to ensure positive result and at the end only few employees indicate or agree that the process is motivating or inspiring.

The second thing that has impacted on performance management as of today is that the future work is been shake by the rapid advancement in technology and overwhelming information flow.

So, as human resource practitioners and business leaders we need to change the narrative around how we manage the people in our organization, we need to ensure that the systems people says today that is not more motivating and inspiring has taken a new shape.

She conclude by saying if employees are fully supported with an efficient performance management system they will be enthusiastic and that will enhance productivity.
